Carnaval de Ovar

Organized since 1952, Carnaval de Ovar it's one of the main activities organized in Aveiro and one of the biggest carnivals of Portugal, with an usual affluence of thousands of people.

Viagem Medieval

Viagem Medieval it's the biggest recreations of the middle age in Europe, that happens once a year, for eleven days in Santa Maria da Feira. The daily affluence gathers around 50 thousand people.

With focus on recreation of sketches and events of the local and national history in the Middle Age, Viagem Medieval, happens along of 40 acres.

Perlim

Perlim it's the biggest Christmas theme park of the country. It takes place since 2008 and born from the wish of extend the Christmas celebrations to the city of Santa Maria da Feira. Initially was called "Terra dos sonhos" (Land of dreams), takes place in the emblematic Quinta do Castelo and it's main goal was to provide magical and unique moments for the families in this special time of the year.

Pão de Ló de Ovar's Festival

The Festival consists on the partneship of the Associação de Produtores do Pão-de-Ló de Ovar (a local manufacturers association) with the participation of candy makers of several regions of the country, apart from the fact that offers several cultural shows that will make the delight of everyone that will participate on the event.

Lent Processions

In the county of Ovar, highly motivated by religious patrimony of great artistic quality, for centuries lives with passion the main dates of the liturgical calendar, specially in the Lent season.

The high moment of the religious celebrations it's the usual Lent Processions that starts with the "Procissão dos Terceiros", then "Procissão dos Passos", Ecce-Home, Via Crúcis and finally the Burial of the Lord.

Imaginarius

Imaginarius or Street International Festival if Theater of Santa Maria da Feira is a festival of street theater that takes pace in the streets of Santa Maria da Feira, and the biggest street arts festival of the country.

With a path of more than a decade in the promotion of the Street Arts in Portugal, Imaginarius - International Street Arts Festival continues to be the privilege stage of famous national and international companies that choose Santa Maria da Feira to present their shows.

Ovos moles

Ovos moles is one of the traditional candy of the Aveiro pastry, that cames from the nuns that lived in the region back in the XIX century, Dominican, Franciscan and Carmelite, namely the Monastery of Jesus de Aveiro. The nuns used the white of the egg to iron their habits, while the yolks, so that they would not be wasted, formed the basis for making the candy.

Buçaquinho Park

Located in the north of the county, it's part of the county natural heritage, with a close relation to Barrinha de Esmoriz and other natural spaces. The forest of Dunas de Ovar, Ria de Aveiro, Urban Park and the Cycling and Foot network of the county can count with 10km of length from Ecoposta do Atlântico that connects the Esmoriz Beach to Furadouro, from the forest road.

That's a space that allows several activities since walking or riding a bicycle from the land or wood roads allowing several herbal smells along the way.

Pão de ló de Ovar

Pão de Ló de Ovar it's a typical pastry product of the city of Ovar, considered the main gastronomic offer of the region. Highly nationally and international recognized, this candy allows the international protection of it's name in 2016.
